Ready Steady Go Kids is Australia's leading multi-sport program for children aged 1.5-6 years. We currently run classes at over 210 locations across Australia, and many more internationally. Our physio-designed program teaches children the fundamentals of 10 different sports and develops essential motor skills in a fun, non-competitive environment.

Our program objectives are as follows:
  • Introduce toddlers & preschoolers to a variety of sports in a structured, safe, inclusive and non-competitive environment.
  • Show toddlers & preschoolers that sport and physical activity are fun, thus developing a lifelong passion for exercise.
  • Develop and enhance age-appropriate gross motor skills, coordination and correct posture.
  • Introduce and reinforce the importance of warm-up and stretching to help prevent injuries, and proper hydration.
  • Teach the importance of good sportsmanship and teamwork.
  • Decrease childhood obesity.
  • Increase each child’s confidence.
  • Prepare children for school and participation in the broader community.

Our classes:
Each Ready Steady Go Kids class is run indoors and we cover five sports per term. Our toddler 'Get Ready' 1.5-2.5yo classes are a 30 minute class, while our "Ready' 2.5-3yo, 'Steady' 3-4yo and 'Go' 4-6yo classes run for a duration of 45 minutes,
Our classes are designed to focus on a specific gross motor, hand-eye/foot-eye and/or balance activity to complement the sport component and our program structure is repeated each week so that participants become familiar and comfortable with the routine.
To ensure that every participant receives a high level of attention and support, we maintain a low instructor to student ratio. Our instructors have (as a minimum) a Level 1 Coaching qualification under the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme from the Australian Sports Commission, a current working with children check, COVID19 Infection control training and extensive experience in teaching preschool-aged children.
We invite and encourage parental participation in our classes, and — trust us — parents love our classes as much as the kids!
Enrolment in Ready Steady Go Kids is easy! To book a class or free trial online, please click here. Alternatively, our friendly staff can assist — simply email or call us on 1300 766 892 (Monday—Friday 9.00 am—4.00 pm AEST).

Term fees are pro-rated to include only the remaining classes for the term.

Benefits
Delivering a combination of physical and emotional benefits, the Ready Steady Go Kids program is designed to build confidence and self-esteem, providing a platform of knowledge and boosting school readiness skills.
Science-based foundation
Our program was designed by a paediatric physiotherapist and occupational therapist. It aims to enhance children's gross and fine motor skills, encourage their continued participation in sports and prepare them for the early school years.
Multi-sports program
We teach 10 different sports which helps children develop a broad range of skills, builds a platform of sporting knowledge and the variety ensures continued interest in the program.
Small class sizes
Class capacities range from 10-14 children and have a maximum of 1:7 instructor to student ratio. This means more attention for your child and better learning outcomes.
All classes are held indoors
Rain, hail or shine - our classes are never cancelled in bad weather. With an indoor environment you can be certain that every class will always go ahead as scheduled.
Incorporating "soft-skills"
Our program incorporates basic counting and colour concepts, encourages team work and sportsmanship, builds social skills and develops listening skills and concentration. All of which improves your child's preparation for school.
The "feel good factor"
Children develop greater self-confidence, enhanced self-esteem and a real sense of achievement, all of which shape their physiological wellbeing.
Age groups
Ready Steady Go Kids defines classes on the basis of age and structures class content accordingly. We offer classes for the following age groups:
Get Ready group (1.5-2.5 years)
This interactive 30-minute class gives toddlers the opportunity to practise their motor skills in a play-oriented environment. It offers a combination of structured group activities and free exploration that helps to build on the key physical and social skills that are essential for this age range. Classes focus on developing toddlers' gross motor skills by incorporating activities such as stretching, jumping, running and ball control. Ten different sports are introduced over 2 terms, each of which are taught for 2 weeks at a time. In these classes we maintain a 1:5 instructor/child ratio with classes capped at 10 children. At this age, we require parental assistance.
Ready group (2.5-3 years)
An introduction to sport in fun, team-based non-competitive environment. The concepts taught are basic and the time spent on each activity is limited in order to maintain the attention of students. Emphasis is placed upon the development of gross-motor skills, listening skills, learning to take turns and following directions. At this age, we ask for parental assistance.
Some children at this age are more than ready to take part in a structured environment and will actively participate in each class. Other children may prefer to watch some parts of the class instead of participating. This is a normal and natural part of learning (by observation). For example, it is not unusual for 2.5 year old children to be seemingly disinterested in singing or running during a class but reproduce activities from the class precisely at home. As children gain confidence and learn our routines their participation level will naturally increase. Skills such as listening, following directions, concentrating and participating are all emerging in the Ready group.
Steady group (3-4 years)
Participants are more easily able to listen to and follow instructions and as such a greater focus is placed upon development of gross motor skills (through both locomotor and non-locomotor activities), fine motor skills (through hand-eye and foot-eye activities) and balance and posture. A greater emphasis is placed upon the sport being covered each week. We do encourage further independence at this stage and therefore parental assistance is not a requirement. However, parental involvement is always welcomed at Ready Steady Go Kids classes if you choose.
If your child still has another year of Kindergarten/Pre-school to complete prior to going to school - this is the class for you!
Go group (4-6 years)
This group is more advanced with a significantly faster pace of teaching and more challenging activities introduced. Time is spent refining existing skills and there is an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the sports covered in the program. Upon leaving the Go group participants will be ready to actively participate in a variety of sports in primary school and beyond. Children will have gained confidence in their abilities and have a positive attitude towards being active and healthy.
If your child is going to school next year - this is the PERFECT class for your child! There are lot's of school readiness skills taught and practiced in this class.
